Leading digital publishing network is looking for a creative Communications Manager to join their energetic team in London.

Your knowledge and experience will enable you to create and fulfilling online, social and print marketing communications across the portfolio of brands to market and drive revenue.

The Role:

• Working closely with the commercial teams to develop and deliver promotions/reader offers/affiliate partnerships, to appear in-paper and online
• Managing the creative output for these areas across including print artwork, online article pages, website traffic drivers, e-newsletters and social media: Writing copy, briefing in design work, managing approval of all creative and ensuring scheduled deadlines are met
• Work with the legal team to ensure that competitions, offers and creative work are compliant and have appropriate Terms & Conditions
• Manage all competitions etc to ensure that all stated Terms are fulfilled appropriately
• Liaising with clients and partners to achieve their objectives and our revenue targets and deliver the projects, including obtaining appropriate approvals at each stage of the project
• Monitoring and reviewing the success of campaigns and individual communications, responding to data reports and results, and proactively considering new approaches whilst remaining sensitive to the day-to-day requirements of the role
• Developing a good commercial understanding of which areas of the business are most profitable
• Appropriate prioritising and workflow management to support commercial objectives
• Regularly reviewing and refreshing overall creative approach
• Responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term growth of Competitions & Offers and Standard Offers Facebook pages and Twitter accounts


• Management of communications projects and/or campaigns management experience
• Confidently able to manage workflows across multiple channels, ensuring contractual and commercial agreements are fulfilled accurately
• Copywriting experience for print and online, with an understanding of the different tonal and creative requirements across different media, and the ability to quickly originate new or adapt existing copy
• Briefing design layouts and working with designers to creatively develop commercial communications
• Excellent project management skills, comfortable adapting and improving processes when required
• Working responsively to commercially and legally sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Brand-savvy – able to work within, and develop when necessary, internal brand guidelines, and to balance the requirements of external client brands with those of The Independent or the Evening Standard
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mind-set
• Client management skills – working effectively with clients, external partners and suppliers and internal designers (desirable but not essential)
• Experience of working with content management systems and familiarity with basic HTML coding (desirable but not essential)
• Experience implementing commercial social media activity (desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Focused with excellent attention to detail

• Ability to assess as situation and prioritise workload accordingly
